Professional Engineer

As a professional engineer, I have been responsible for the design of construction falsework, temporary support structures, crane erection plans, concrete formwork and safety critical work activities. In addition I have performed oversite of quality control testing and inspections as well as subcontract management on many large State heavy highway construction projects. The following is a list of recent Colorado project where my professional engineering experience was invaluable to the success of each project.

  • Bear Creek Bridge (Ouray, CO)
  • US 24 Bridge Replacement (Leadville, CO)
  • Wadsworth and Bowles Ped Bridge (Littleton, CO)
  • Edwards Interchange (Edwards, CO)
  • Debeque Bridge Pier Rehab, Debeque, Colorado.
  • Highway 34, Greeley Bridge Rehab (Greeley, CO)
  • US 85 Nunn Bridge Replacement Over UPRR (Nunn, CO)

Previous responsibilities included the management of construction of the new I-25 bridge over Ridge gate in Lone Tree, Co. this project was a cast in place post tensioned concrete tub girder bridge. The structure was built in two phases which required detailed coordination between live I-25 traffic and bridge work activities. As a Professional Engineer I designed, stamped and performed oversite of bridge overhang and falsework installation. On other projects I have provided oversight for BNSF multi span steel and concrete girder railroad bridges in Nebraska and New Mexico.

Project Engineer

Early in my career I worked as structures project engineer on the $1.3 billion I-25 (TREX) heavy highway design build project in Denver, Colorado. Responsibilities include construction oversight of bridge work, including concrete light rail structures, precast concrete girder highway bridges and a 1,200 foot steel girder fly-over structure. These projects required skills in engineering design, review, analysis and installation of drilled caissons, earthwork shoring, structural falsework, crane set-up and lifting analysis, concrete form design, construction layout, utility relocates and coordination with local municipalities for handling of traffic.

My first job after graduating from college was with a small geotechnical engineering firm where I performed soil investigations for design and incorporation into project specifications. Reviewed geotechnical designs for safety, technical adequacy and compliance with design criteria and made recommendations for improvements.  Coordinated with design teams to obtain responses to design questions and assisted with design changes. Specified recommendations for project quality assurance and quality control programs. Performed quality control testing in accordance with all applicable standards.
